Creative Services has been organized to serve as the central point for university communication services. Our mission is to provide a cost effective, easy and efficient way for you and your staff to create communications that are compelling, engaging and aligned with the University’s brand.
Through specific messaging, our team of photographers, copywriters, and graphic designers create memorable marketing materials that communicate the university’s core values and reflect its identity and registered trademarks. From concept to completion, we can help you with all the collateral materials needed to communicate about your organization, service, and/or product.
Working with DSU Creative Services
Our first priority is to provide you with excellent marketing that achieves your objectives.
Click on the Request Design Services image and tell us what you want to achieve, with whom, and why. We’ll suggest options, offer ideas, and talk deadlines.
Once you’ve agreed on the direction, we’ll begin working on your projects. You’ll typically see initial drafts on copy and design, and you’ll be asked to approve the final draft just before it goes to press (or to production for electronic media). You can have input all along the way or sit back and trust us with the design from concept to completion.
Either way, you’ll end up with a fantastic finished product. Less work for you. Less worry, too. Plus, you get to take all the credit. What’s not to like?
What services are offered?
Marketing and Design recommendations and client consultation. Creative and Visual Services will help determine the best strategies for reaching your target audience and getting your message across.
Project management. Creative and Visual Services develops timelines for your project and works with you to meet agreed-upon deadlines to make sure your project is completed on time.
Graphic design and print services. Creative and Visual Services provides design options, gathers estimates from printing vendors and oversees the print process. These design services are free; you will be responsible for printing costs.
Vendor recommendations. Creative and Visual Services will recommend vendors for print-only jobs and promotional items that use the Dixie State logo, athletic logo, seal and word mark.
How long will my project take?
It’s important to give Creative and Visual Services sufficient lead time to complete your project, and others in the queue, in a professional and timely manner.
For large projects, allow at least 12 weeks from start to finish.
- – 2 weeks of the 12 weeks is dedicated to printing, to keep the costs of printing down
- – Examples include brochures, booklets, newsletters and event advertising materials.
For smaller projects, allow at least 4-5 weeks from start to finish.
- – 2 weeks of the 4-5 weeks is dedicated to printing, to keep the costs of printing down
- – Examples include event invitations, postcards, flyers, e-mails and posters.
- – For stationery items please allow 3-4 weeks from the time the job is submitted to when you will receive your cards.
How do I start a project?
Please complete the Request Design Services Form (link to that button) to request assistance with your project. After submitting the form, your project will be put in queue (in order of receipt). A project manager or graphic designer will contact you with any questions regarding the information you have provided.
